Off the shelf and prescribed drugs – side effects

Every year over 85,000 Americans dies from the side effects of over- the -counter medications and properly prescribed drugs/pharmaceuticals. More dies from the side effects of prescribed drugs given due to clinical error – wrongly prescribed treatments due to errors in diagnoses.

All manufactured drugs have side effects. The longer you take them then the more likely they are to make your more ill and experience illnesses over and above your original problem.

Please read the side effects of the medication you are taking and thereby take responsibility for your own health. Make sure you are aware of all the side effects of the drugs prescribed for you including birth control pills based on hormones.

If you are experiencing the side effects then make changes for your health before its too late.

Each person’s metabolism is unique and some people have a lesser tolerance to chemical drugs and other have a higher tolerance. It is not a situation where one size fits all. Those who are ill often have a compromised immune system and react badly to even small doses of prescribed drugs. Their sensitivity is greater than others and thus the side effects of the drugs are greater and more dangerous.

 

Malnutrition due to vitamin deficits

Diseases Of Malnutrition – acknowledged by the medical profession and the government. Verified by science

  • Pellagra – symptoms start with fatigue and depression and can grow to dermatitis, diarrhea, psychosis, dementia and death. The cause is a deficit of the B vitamins and iron
  • Arthritis – joint pain and swelling and loss of bone mass. Leads to fine and large fractures. Cause is a deficit of vitamin C, vitamin D and calcium and magnesium. Low energy, fatigue and depression are also symptoms.
  • SAD – seasonal affective disorder or depression. Caused by a vitamin D deficit especially during the winter and spring. Depression and fatigue is a result of a vitamin D deficit plus loss of bone mass and arthritis.
  • Scurvy – the body is unable to make collagen to repair itself. Loss of teeth, joint, function and bleeding via damaged arteries and blood vessels. This can be undiagnosed at first until the symptoms become worse. It initially is fatigue, pain and lack of energy. The cause is a deficit of vitamin C which prevents the body from repairing itself and in particular the manufacture of collagen – required for body repair and cell replacement.
  • Rickets. A disease that affects children in the main. A deficit of vitamin D, vitamin B, magnesium and calcium causes fragile bones and deformation of the bones.
  • Arrhythmia – uneven heart beat. A deficit of magnesium cause muscle spasms including the heart muscles. Magnesium is used by every cell in your body and a deficit causes ill health – cramps and leg twitches are a symptom along with irregular heart beat. This causes stress on the cardiovascular system and loss of flexibility in the smooth muscle of the arteries.
  • Selenium is an important mineral. It’s necessary for many processes, A lack of selenium may cause
    • hypothyroid syndrome – not enough thyroid hormone is produced for proper metabolism
    • cell replacement requires selenium
    • reproduction – causes infertility. Farmers provide it as a supplement to stock to avoid this serious issue.
    • protection from infection – the immune systems needs this element to work effectively
    • skin problems
    • depression and fatigue.
  • Zinc is another key element needed by all cells in the body to function well and a shortage often manifests as skin problems.
  • Hypothyroidism. The thyroid gland can produce enough thyroid hormone for the body to remain healthy. Symptoms are fatigue, depression and goiter. Prolonged deficit of thyroid hormone leads to malfunction of the immune system and lack of protection against infections both viral and bacterial. This can be cured with additional iodine plus vitamin supplementation with C, B complex, D and multivitamin and mineral supplementation.
  • Beriberi is a disease caused by a vitamin B-1 deficiency – thiamine deficiency. Beriberi affects the heart and circulatory system. Beriberi can cause heart failure.
  • Dehydration. Most people do not drink enough water and are dehydrated. Without sufficient water the body cannot function properly and illnesses are the result. See the article on this site about proper hydration. Muscle and joint pains are one of the symptoms of dehydration.
  • Gum disease. Painful, swollen and bleeding gums. This is caused by a deficit of vitamin C and vitamin B as well as poor dental care.

There is growing evidence that malnutrition – a deficit of key vitamins and minerals – is a cause of serious illnesses including the ones listed above which have been acknowledged by government medical authorities.

Research has discovered that the herpes virus has been found to be a factor in causing artery damage in animals and birds.

There is no doubt that when the body is malnourished it is more susceptible to infections [ both viral and bacterial] and suffers from physical damage to cells and organs and structure.

Oxidation is simply the effect of oxygen reacting with matter. In our bodies it affects all of our cells. Its part of living however it can be reduced by taking anti-oxidants – vitamin C is a proven anti-oxidant.

 

Hypothyroid Syndrome

This occurs when the thyroid gland cannot produce sufficient thyroid hormone for the body to function properly. The thyroid hormone is needed
by all body cells to function properly. The symptoms are chronic fatigue and depression.

This problem is often misdiagnosed as depression or some other autoimmune disease. Some doctors do not test for this problem and dish out anti-depressants instead,

Note that there are different manifestations of this problem. It can be sub-clinical whereby it manifests as ongoing tiredness and low level
depression or it can be fully present with the symptoms of severe fatigue and or depression.
One of the causes of thyroid gland malfunction is a lack of iodine. Iodine is a key nutrient for your thyroid gland to function properly. Seaweed is a natural source of iodine and supplements can be use as well.

Anemia

Anemia is a low red blood cell count. Moderate to severe fatigue is one of the symptoms.

This can be a side effect of properly prescribed medication. Get a blood test and supplement with iron plus vitamin C to rebuild your red blood cell count to a health level.

Vitamin D deficit

This is a very common deficit for both women and men. A low level of vitamin D causes fatigue and depression.

Our body makes vitamin D however for this to happen we must experience sunlight on our skin for at least half an hour per day. This is the minimum for persons with dominant European genes but for people with darker skin pigmentation a longer exposure to sunlight is necessary to make enough vitamin D to be healthy.

A vitamin D deficit also cause loss of bone mass and the inability to metabolize calcium for good bone health.

Most people do not make sufficient vitamin D and need to take it as a supplement to remain healthy and maintain bone health and density.
Take a minimum of 400 IU per day. For people who do not get outdoors and are over 45 the recommended intake is up to 800IU per day in two divided doses over the day.

 

Pregnancy

Carrying and birthing places a huge demand on the energy and resources of all women. It is very likely that their own reserves of vitamins and minerals have been severely depleted. To recover both energy and health supplementation with the key vitamins :

– vitamin A

-vitamin B complex

-vitamin D

– vitamin E

– vitamin C

is essential.

Extra vitamin B3 will also help to overcome fatigue and depression.

 

 

Vitamins and Minerals For Good Health

Vitamin C

Vitamin C is a proven ant-oxidant, anti-viral and anti-bacterial infection agent. It is critical for the function of your immune system.

Your body needs vitamin C to manufacture collagen the stuff that skin, muscles and ligaments are made from plus it is required to replace and repair cells in the smooth muscle walls of the arteries.

Unlike most mammals we cannot make our own and have to take it as a supplement. Three 1000 mg capsules, morning, noon and night will maintain a healthy level of vitamin C in your body.

Vitamin C quickly reduces the effects of colds and flu. The secret is to use large quantities when you have a cold or the flu. Take 1000mg
every hour while the effects of the flu or cold are present.

If your body is short of vitamin C the effects on your health are major. Bleeding gums when brushing or flossing your teeth is one of the
first signs. Smokers are usually very deficient and need constant supplementation to restore their levels of vitamin C. Gum and teeth
problems also occur if your body is low on B vitamins. Take b complex for teeth and gum health.

Your immune system needs vitamin C to function effectively and combat invading bacteria and viruses. Your body needs it to renew your organs
and cells; to grow cells to replace old ones.

Vitamin C is essential to help your body heal from injuries and operations. It speeds up healing and helps prevent infections. If you know someone with painful skin ulcers that will not heal then tell them to take vitamin C and B complex orally. When ill or recovering from injuries take one 1000mg vitamin C tablet 5 times per day until well again.

The medical mainstream does not advocate vitamin C as a healing agent and quote clinical tests that used only tiny amounts of vitamin C per and thus were totally ineffective. To combat colds and the flu you need to take adequate quantities of vitamin C to get relief – at least six 1000mg tablets spread over the day.

Vitamin B complex

The B complex vitamins are essential for your body to function well including your brain and the rest of the nervous system.

A deficit of these vitamins causes fatigue, depression and skin problems.

Take at least one B100 complex capsule per day or more if you are unwell.

America and Europe experienced epidemics of a nasty disease called pellagra which had symptoms ranging from fatigue and depression, skin lesions, upset gut to the extreme mental illnesses of dementia, bi=polar and schizophrenia. Also, symptoms like those of ADHD were expressed. In 1939 a scientist discovered that pellagra was caused by a deficiency of B vitamins and in particular B3.

The USA government passed legislation requiring the addition of vitamin B plus iron to white flour before it could be sold or used in food manufacture. The epidemic of pellagra abated and sufferers became well again with the healing effect of the vitamin B. Persons that suffered from pellagra for a long time needed additional vitamin B3 to recover their health, both physical and mental, and had to keep p on taking B complex to remain well.

Pellagra sufferers who experienced the extreme mental illness symptoms of the disease mostly recovered their health by taking 3,000 to 6,000 mg of vitamin B3 per day in divided doses over the day – these sufferers had the symptoms of manic behavior, dementia and schizophrenia. With modern diets of processed foods it is often impossible to get adequate vitamin B complex from food and supplementation is necessary to remain well.

Vitamin D and Calcium

 

A critical nutrient to avoid depression, fatigue and maintain bone health. It is necessary for your body to metabolize calcium and maintain healthy bone strength and mass.

Vitamin C, vitamin D and calcium are essential for the repair of broken bones and to restore bone health. The citrate or orotate forms of calcium are easier for the body to metabolize. Calcium is a safe supplement provided you take with vitamin D and C so that your body can properly metabolize it.

They are necessary to reduce the effect of arthritis and repair joints.

Vitamin E

Vitamin E plus vitamin C are essential for the health of your cardiovascular system. They are essential nutrients to maintain the elasticity of the smooth muscles of the arteries and heal your body maintain and repair artery inner linings.

They also help prevent narrowing and loss of flexibility of the arteries called atherosclerosis. Take both daily a minimum of 400IU of vitamin E and three 1000 mg capsules of vitamin C per day.

Multivitamins

Take at least one multivitamin per day that contains the trace elements and minerals our body needs to remain healthy. Manganese and chromium are both essential in small quantities for our immune system to function properly.

Selenium

Many soils are deficient in selenium. Farmers give it to their animals to keep them healthy and we need it as well. Its for our immune system and is needed for cell repair and replacement. 20 mg per day is sufficient.

Zinc

A critical element to maintain skin and hair health. 20 mg daily .

Magnesium

This is a key nutrient for bone, muscles and the brain and nervous system. Best isn a magnesium citrate or orotate form.

It cures restless leg syndrome and body twitching whilst sleeping. Cramps in the legs and feet are a sign of magnesium deficiency and also an irregular heart beat or palpitations.

Manganese

A deficit of manganese can cause tremors of shaking of the limbs and head. Tardive dyskinesia is caused by a manganese deficit. Take 1 mg per day only.

 

Gut Health

More and more research is verifying that the health of the bacteria in your gut affects the overall health and function of your body.

Take some plain unsweetened yogurt daily to help maintain gut health.

Have sugar [ a source of sucrose and glucose] and simple carbohydrates [ white flour and corn sugar/fructose] as treats and cut down on it as much as you can. There is a diabetes and obesity epidemic out there and it is caused by the over consumption of sugar and refined carbohydrates. Cuts these out of your diet and you will lose weight and regain energy to be and do.

Many people suffer from fatigue and depression due to the over consumption of sugar, white flour based products and products made using corn. The body is overloaded with sugar and simple carbs and cannot function properly.

Taking vitamin B whilst modifying your diet is very helpful in overcoming cravings and allowing your body to adjust to a new level of health. Vitamin B3 and vitamin B complex will help you overcome the cravings often associated with a reduction in sugar and refined carbohydrates.

Allergies

If you have cravings for it then it might well cause an allergic reaction and or disease. Taking vitamin B whilst modifying your diet is very helpful in overcoming cravings and allowing your body to adjust to a new level of health.

Allergic reactions to food are not always extreme however they do cause depression and fatigue which is cured by the removal of the allergy causing item from the diet.
